| Well, finally got a chance to take the TD42 engine block and head down to the engine shop yesrerday. Getting the block acid dipped (to clean it out) and the head checked over.
Also, during the week, got a new set of Mickey T MTZ's and another Performance Outlaw rim for the spare......now have a full matching set.

| Heard back from the engine shop that is checking out my head and block yesterday. The head has a few small cracks that may or may not leak when pressure tested. The bores have a fair amount of wear in them. They are going to remove the old cylinder liners & if the block checks out OK, will be getting a rebuild kit which includes new liners ( semi finished, so can be bored and honed once in the block), new pistons, rings, gaskets......basically everything to rebuild the motor, and a new head. Crank will be getting a regrind aswell. | |

| Where in the head are the cracks ? if they are in the pre-com chamber they usually can be fixed from what I understand. Also it might pay to look at a set of pre-com chambers from a factory turbo model they will give small advantages over the naturally aspirated pre-coms. | |

| No Dan, they weren't in the pre-com chambers (I think). Yeh, they said they could get them welded, but by the time they did that, the service on the head, pressure test it, it wasn't much more for a new head. Think I would rather go that way. Will talk to them about the pre-com chambers from a turbo model. | |

| I ended up ordering a set of HID adaptors off Evilbay, they turned up a couple of days ago. They allow the bulb to sit out further ( about where the original bulb sat) giving a much better light throw. The bulbs are H1 6000k, but have a pair of H1 10000k bulbs coming..........be interesting to see what they are like | |
